If you have a wedding to attend, you know how difficult it can be to find the perfect gift for the new couple that won't be returned. Even if the bride and groom have registered somewhere, those gifts can be costly. Here are some gift ideas for the bride and groom that will be appreciated and find a place in their new home.
Decoupage Plate
This is a gift you will need to make, but it is easy to personalize and it is relatively simple to make. You will need a picture of the happy couple, a clear glass plate, acrylic paint in the color of your choice, a foam paintbrush, a flat paintbrush, and a bottle of Mod Podge sealer/glue. Take the photo of the happy couple to a nearby copy shop and have it color copied onto regular paper. Cut the photo out of the paper into a circle the same size as the middle of the glass plate.
On the back of the plate, place the circle face down so that the photo shows through the bottom of the plate. Using the Mod Podge and the sponge brush, paint over the top of the photo and just over the edges of the circle. Let it dry. Using the acrylic paint and the flat paintbrush, paint over the entire back side of the plate. Be sure that the paint is even. Allow the paint to dry. When the plate is dry, paint the entire back of the plate with the Mod Podge in order to seal the paint and the picture. This will protect the project and make it last. Voila! A perfect and personalized gift the couple will want to display in their new home.
Picnic Basket
What is more romantic than a picnic for two? For this gift idea, you will need a picnic basket, plates, cups, flatware, napkins, and a tablecloth. Place all of the items in the basket and the bride and groom will be ready to go on a picnic in a moment's notice. All they will need to do is just add the food.Gift Card
If all else fails, a gift card to a favorite store will be appreciated. If you aren't sure which store to purchase a gift card for, it is always a great idea to buy one for the grocery store. The happy couple will appreciate being able to buy their favorite foods that may not be in their new budget. With a little thought, your gift ideas for the newly married couple will be a hit. They will treasure your gift and it won't be found anywhere near the return pile.
